Urban Policy Project - 218K369

Globally, non-communicable diseases are one of the most important causes of illness and death that men and women, children and the elderly, rich and poor, all individuals and societies in developed/developing regions face. Although many different factors cause the increase in non-communicable diseases, the main four main risk factors gain importance especially for four important diseases. In order to prevent/reduce non-communicable diseases and risk factors, it is important that living spaces are at a level that allows this, as well as the need to develop and/or change individual behaviors for the promotion and protection of health.

At this scale of the project, it is aimed to examine urban policies that can reduce non-communicable diseases and risk factors, by supporting equal access to the right to healthy life and healthy life choices, at a time when socio-economic inequalities in society and differences in access to public services are increasing.
